Does IG trade on weekends? ›

IG is the only Australian provider to offer weekend trading on indices and GBP/USD. We also offer weekend trading on cryptocurrencies, as well as our Crypto 10 Index.

Although there are provisions for early trading, US Stock Market open time like dow jones, nasdaq and nyse opening time always refers to the beginning of normal hours or 9.30 AM on all working days. Trading does not happen on Saturdays and Sundays.

Weekend trading hours on indices are from 4pm on Saturday to 6.40am on Monday (UTC+8)*. Positions open at 6.40am (UTC+8)* on a Monday will roll over into weekday positions when those markets resume 20 minutes later at 7am.

Most share trading hours will run from Monday-Friday, five days a week. There are no regular trading hours for stocks on Saturdays or Sundays. So, if you see news about stocks being up or down over the weekend, it's most likely stock futures – which begin trading at 23:00 on Sunday night (UTC).
