🚀 Introducing Xceed: Leaving a LegacyWhy 'Leaving a Legacy'? As HCP students in the UK, we are uniquely placed to have a big impact on our peers and our communities"Actions are only judged by their intentions. Each person shall be rewarded only for which he intended" (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi)What do we need to do as individuals to ensure we have sincerity in our intentions and actions? How we can leverage our education and experiences for good, and to leave a positive and lasting legacy well after we graduate? These are the questions we hope to answer, through talks, workshops and a panel conversation with qualified healthcare professionals who have excelled in their careers, within an intentional Islamic frameworkWhy networking?Muslim HCP students are scattered across the UK and often exist in concentrated pockets throughout the country, with limited national communication.Student BIMA hope to use our status as a national organisation to change this, by providing an opportunity for Muslim HCP students to discuss the big issues facing our communities"The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever" (Bukhari, Muslim)Join us for a day of connectivity, (friendly!) competition and collaboration as we explore how we can Xceed as a community!Look out for ticket release and more information on our fantastic speakers!

Asian Medical Colleges proudly advertising the selection of their Doctors in another Country's residency is a remarkably unfortunate thing being seen nowadays.Even though the said Asian Med Colleges themselves run residency programs, but have never advertised/cheered the number of their Doctors being selected in their own residency or in their own country's top residency..... This is simply demeaning their students who worked equally hard but decided to do post graduate residency in their own institutes or in their own country. And this act is demeaning the very country these Colleges are situated in which provides great institutions for PG training.Especially when such countries don't have very strong healthcare availability to every community of the population.Going away of top talents of any community is not something the institutions responsible for keeping and training should be cheering.Strange times. Surely the Doctors have right to celebrate and cheer themselves and their colleagues, because they worked hard for it and they deserve it. But is it nice for the institutions to celebrate it? When they are responsible for training and encouraging their Doctors who choose to stay.Plus it's indirectly saying that such institutions think their training program is so inferior to the training programs of other country that they are cheering it themselves.#usmle #match2024 #match2025 #residency #PG

A bit of reflection for Match Week - this week, both physician and pharmacy candidates find out their Match results for their post-graduate training. Today, those physician candidates found out if they matched or if they must now enter into the supplemental offer and acceptance program. When I first made the decision to pursue a post graduate residency I had no idea where that path would lead me, or how involved I would be in the residency process on the physician side at the end of it. Every step and experience during my residencies has left such a lasting impact on me, and has taught me so much about myself and the world of healthcare education. This process is stressful. It’s still stressful from the faculty side and it was certainly stressful as a candidate. Some advice I wish someone had told me as a candidate were to take a breath, give myself some grace, and allow yourself to feel all the feelings that come this week. Surround yourself with people who care about you and will lift you up no matter the outcome, because this does not define who you are. Wishing everyone in the match process the best this week - please feel free to reach out to me if needed. #match2024 #residencymatch
